Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall
Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 4:06PM It's sad to say goodbye to summer — I love this season. The brilliant sun, bright blue skies and being able to step outside without throwing on an extra layer. But all good things must come to an end (or at least a pause) and in another eight months I will be dancing in the warm sunshine once again!
Autumn is now upon us and this is still a busy season when many of our happy couples will be saying I do. Congratulations to Ashleigh and Chris who just tied the knot outdoors on the beautiful grounds of Deer Creek in Ajax, Ontario. When Ashleigh came in for a consult she was deep in her search of the right stationer for her invitations — a custom studio that could deliver her style and price point. When I met Ashleigh and her mother for the first time they were a little exhausted with the entire process — stunned by prices they had been quoted and the inflexibility of a few companies they had tried working with.
When couples first start to plan their wedding the initial excitement can quickly dwindle as all the details and costs can become overwhelming. It's important to seek out vendors that are willing to work closely with you — catering to your needs, offering advice on everything from trends to cost savings, and are available to answer any questions or concerns you might have. There is nothing worse than being uncomfortable to ask questions, feeling pressured to sign a contract, or working with a vendor that doesn't share your vision. This is your day and the process leading up to it should be fun and enjoyable. The best advice is to trust your instincts, go with your gut and don't accept anything less than stellar customer service. And after working closely with Ashleigh and Chris they were able to create a custom stationery package they actually wanted at a price point that didn't topple their budget.

With winter fast approaching (and it always has a way of sneaking up on me) I'll be taking a short break from blogging to spend some much needed quality time with my new little boy. I'll also be busy getting ready for the new year and will be back to posting just in time before the holidays. The studio is still open for custom design work and consultations — so feel free to call or email to book your appointment. As the leaves begin to fall and the daylight hours grow shorter, take time to enjoy the new season before our chilly Canadian winter begins!
