Enjoy the magic of the season!

Looking back, I remember how magical this time of year felt when I was a child. Big family dinners, staying up for midnight mass, and the anticipation of what was waiting for me under the tree in the morning. Now having children of my own, I realize how much effort my parent's made to keep the magic alive in our house year after year. Thank you mom and dad!

This year we'll be celebrating Christmas with a new addition to the family with the recent birth of my neice. With two boys of my own (and five nephews born in the past few years) it's kind of exciting to have a baby girl in our midst again. She's super sweet and I can't wait for my boys to meet her on Christmas Eve. From our family to yours, Merry Christmas!

Local Cake Artist Takes the Cake on National TV

Last night on Slice TV, my good friend Judy, of Frostings by Judy, competed to impress a couple from London, England with a unique and ambitious wedding cake. And guess what? She not only won them over, but the expert judges and host Caroline Rhea too. Congratulations on a well-deserved win and watch out for Frostings by Judy, she's going places!

What is Cake Walk?

Cake Walk: Wedding Cake Edition is a competition between three professional Canadian cake designers competing for a $5,000 prize and the glory of winning against fellow designers to create one bridal couple's dream cake. Host Caroline Rhea guides viewers through the competition and judges David MacCarfrae, Alexandria Pellegrino, and Gordon Bailey have been given the task of selecting the winning cake for the couple. Judy's Episode #1007 : Cake of Life

Katie and Jamie fell in love as roommates in London, England and decided on a whim to immigrate to Canada. This very active couple participates in numerous sports and loves to play games. They hope Designers Cindy Coelho, Judy Fauteux-Gibson, and Diana Hardy can take the story of their journey together and bring it to life in a spectacular cake for their wedding day.

Great spring photo special!

It's freezing here! But hopefully soon enough spring will be just around the corner. The season brings so many great things to look forward to — for me it's spending some quality time outdoors and breathing in the fresh spring air, and of course lots of family celebrations to enjoy time together from Easter to Mother's Day.

In anticipation of Spring's arrival, I've just heard that our friends at Photojenic Photography are offering a mini Easter photo shoot special in March — and get this, for only $50. It's a steal in my mind, because you'll get a 20 minute session for your little ones and all your images on a DVD. We've done many photo cards here in the studio with images from Photojenic and the results never disappoint. The studio is located East of Toronto in Trenton, Ontario. Even if you live in the GTA or Durham Region, it's worth the quaint country drive!
